Our Mission

The Mission of Healing Eyes is a nonprofit team of volunteers who restore vision to the blinded poor in Zihuantanejo, Mexico. Our mission: is "to see that the blinded poor are the face of Jesus in distressing disguise." - Mother Theresa 

We strive to put into practice Matthew's 25:40: "Truly I say to you, as you did it to the least of my brethren,you did it to me." 

Our History

The Mission of Healing Eyes got its start when Dr. Jim and Molly Conahan and their 3 children, Megan, Matt, and Brian, answered God's call and started a small clinic in Ixtapa, Mexico. The mission and has grown to perform well over 4000 plus cataract and laser surgeries, 500 plus pterygia and laser surgeries, 12,000 plus pairs of glasses distributed, 10,500 plus patients seen, and 31 mission have been completed since 1997!

Dr. Jim Conahan

Jim's wife, Molly, is the mission administrator who gets volunteers, mostly teens and college students, to get involved

Dr. Jim Conahan, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, voted Denver’s Top Ophthalmologist in 5280 Magazine by his peers in medicine. He has advanced training in refractive surgery and micro-surgery of the eye. He lives in Highlands Ranch with his wife, Molly, and their three children.
